The Hokkaido Snow Tour is an eight-day, seven-night fully guided snowshoe escapade of east Hokkaido. This is a Level 3 tour that can accommodate up to 11 participants and costs JPY498,000 (or SGD6,640) per person. Be prepared to walk at a gentle pace for six hours as you come across limitless landscapes, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the Pacific Ocean. The tour starts at the fishing port of Kushiro and ends at Utoro, a small onsen hot spring resort town located on the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If you’re a fan of winter weather, then you will enjoy basking in the high-quality powder snow that West Hokkaido is known for. It may always be cold outside but you can still experience a sunny weather as you marvel at the towering mountains of Daisetsuzan National Park, the Shiretoko Peninsula, or even the islands of Russia’s Siberian far east. You will also get to see Hokkaido’s famed tancho red-crested cranes along the way. You will also be served fresh and authentic Japanese meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
