The Filipino Fashion Designer will present her Spring/Summer 2017 collection in New York Fashion Week this September.
Filipino Fashion Designer Rosenthal Tee has only been in the business for three years, but she is proving that she is here for the long run. As they say, there’s no way but up. In her case, there’s no way but to go global. She showcased her Fall/Winter 2016 collection in New York Fashion Week last February 2016 and she will back this September for Spring/Summer 2017.
Rosenthal Tee designs mainly luxury ready-to-wear, evening, and bridal pieces for her clients. She started out with applying techniques that showed traditional Filipino design such as heavy beadwork and embroidery. Nowadays, she has challenged herself to make her designs younger and more relevant to the women of today.
We are curious to know what the young designer will be presenting for her upcoming Spring/Summer 2017 collection and what’s next for her in her thriving career. In her interview with our sister site, Clozette, read on to know more about how she is changing the game for Filipino design on an international scale.
Tell us a bit more about “Rosenthal Tee,” the brand.
Rosenthal Tee, the label, is more or less about nostalgia, femininity, with quirky details, younger, and definitely more subtle than its predecessors. Older labels tend to be more “in-your-face”, and I’m trying to introduce a softer aesthetic and we’ll see how that pans out!
