Before you give up, ask yourself these six eye-opening questions. They might just be the driving force you need to change your own destiny.
We are all bound to face obstacles while pursuing our goals, whether personal or professional. When the going gets tough, it sometimes feels easier to just give up and accept our “destiny”. But who said that destiny is a creature that can’t be tamed? So before throwing in the towel and going back to the safety of your comfort zone, take a moment and ask yourself these six important questions. Don’t forget: your destiny is in your own hands, and it’s up to you to pursue and change it.
“Why did I pursue this particular goal?”
Answering this question can remind you of all the reasons why you chose your goal in the first place. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed, distracted, and forget how important that dream is to you. Focusing on the reasons why you’re working hard to change your destiny and achieve your goal might be what you need to stay motivated.
“Did I set a realistic goal?”
Your goal must be smart. It has to be attainable, specific and calculable. Without a concrete plan, you will not be empowered to alter a change. If you must, make the necessary adjustments to allow your objectives to be more feasible.
“Am I just being impulsive, or have I already thought things through?”
Emotions can easily consume you and cloud your judgment. It’s okay to feel scared and rattled by the changes that are happening. Don’t let them control you. Take time to sit back and thoroughly go over the situation. This way, you can look at the facts without letting your feelings get in the way.
