Join the club: inspire and provoke your senses, then find your signature scent with Code Deco’s monthly membership programme in Singapore.
“Fragrance – like coffee or tea – is best enjoyed alone. For an intimate product like perfume, trying to savour it in the beauty hall is not the best way,” says Gauri Garodia, founder of Code Deco, Singapore’s first artisanal perfumery. A former sensory design expert for Unilever, Gauri boasts over 18 years of expertise in the international perfume industry. She is the expert nose behind Code Deco.
With the belief that using fragrances is an acquired sophisticated taste that culminates through time, Gauri launched Club Code Deco this month, a membership programme that sends its members a box of three scented creations in 3ml vials – plus one special “surprise”. We have seen beauty subscription boxes in the region, but this is likely the first house in Asia to attempt this fragrance-only concept. Finally – now there is no need to splurge on pricey full-sized bottles just to find your favourite scents.
Through this programme – at only SGD45 a month with a minimum subscription of three months (“enough time for the user to decide what they like or don’t like,” says Gauri) – members can expect to receive limited edition juices from Club Deco that will not be released in-stores. As for the “surprise”, “it could be anything from an invitation to a wine-tasting event, to a limited edition eau de parfum concocted together with international guest perfumers.”
Is there bespoke tailoring for individual? No. However, in the package, there is a contact card detailing how members can submit their feedback to allow the Code Deco team to curate a collection of perfume to their liking in upcoming boxes.
If you’re looking to build your fragrance wardrobe, or if you’re for a sensory adventure that will please and challenge your scented preferences, then Club Code Deco is a must-try for you.
