Review: Dolce&Gabbana Dolce Floral Drops

We’re well into spring, the season of airy sundresses and iced lemonade, and it’s high time we got a new spring scent as well. Enter: Dolce&Gabbana’s newest fragrance – Dolce Floral Drops. The Eau de Toilette is a more delicate version of Dolce (released in 2014), with a frosted glass bottle to resemble fresh morning dew. While it recalls the romantic and feminine aroma of Dolce’s white flowers, the crispness of neroli leaves makes Floral Drops lighter and simply perfect for springtime.

Even before discovering the scent, the first thing that caught our eye was the exquisite cream coloured box it was packaged in. Upon opening it, the Floral Drops bottle was protected by silky green fabric and surrounded by ivory flowers. Already, the attention to detail scores some brownie points.

But, a fragrance is only as good as the combination of its notes. And if you like yours refreshing and light, you’ll be head over heels for this one. The opening scent is crisp and bright, with hints of papaya flower and neroli leaves. It’s the perfect level of sweetness without being too sugary.

Soon after, the floral notes take over, presenting a more delicate side of the fragrance with white water lily, daffodil and amaryllis, an exotic South African flower. Finally, you’re left with musky base notes of sandalwood and cashmeran.

Dolce&Gabbana’s newest Floral Drops fragrance is the quintessential addition to a Spring/Summer look, whether you’re getting sand in between your toes or gearing up for an elegant night out.
