Eva Mendes was not satisfied with just starting her own clothing line, so the actress turned entrepreneur is launching her own line of colour cosmetics with Maesa Group.
Called Circa, the brand pays homage to Old Hollywood glamour by providing professional results at mass with rich pigments that work well with women of every ethnicity and have long wearability. “Because I’m Cuban-American, it was really important to me to have colours that service all types of ethnicities,” Mendes told Women’s Wear Daily. “Anything that I needed, I got from a drugstore as far as beauty was concerned.”
The brand will hit Walgreens shelves starting in February, where you can expect to see 10 flattering foundation shades, a dual-ended mascara, and a lip and cheek stain wrapped in black lacquer with antique gold packaging. Prices will range from 8USD to 15USD. And you’ll want to mark your 2016 calendars, for when the line debuts brushes and bags.
This is only the latest venture for the multitasking mom, who gave birth to daughter Esmerelda as she was in the midst of launching her line with New York and Company. She’s also the third screen star to make the switch from movies to makeup, following in the footsteps of Salma Hayek and Drew Barrymore. But she says she’ll figure out a way to make everything work. “I have no idea [how I balance my career and motherhood],” she said. “It’s a little premature to comment on that. Ask me in a few years.”
