You can blame it on burning the midnight oil, a cry fest after watching a sappy movie or just a fun night out (‘til dawn) with the girls, but puffy eyes are a reality we must face (literally when we stare at our reflections in the morning). We may have earned them – proof of hard work or a souvenir of a great time, but they’re not battle scars to be flaunted to the world. Good thing there are beauty shortcuts to banish them. Here are five ways to de-puff your eyes, stat.

1 cold spoon

Cold Spoons
Place two metal spoons in the freezer. Let them cool for at least five minutes. Take a spoon and apply directly under the eye, curved side down. Hold it in place for 30 seconds then switch to the other eye. Repeat three-four times (using the other chilled spoon when the first one gets warm). The cold helps constrict the blood vessels, reducing inflammation and puffiness. Follow up with an eye cream and you’ll instantly look fresh and well rested.
Extra tip: Keep spoons in your fridge so they’re ready for use the next time.
