Here’s why you need to get an Oxylife Facial

In an ideal world I’d be able to eat what I want, sleep when I want, consume as much sugar as I want and it wouldn’t affect my body or my skin. But alas, this is not the case. And so my skin tends to break out, and is starting to show signs of wear and tear.  Read: uneven skin tone and fine lines. While serums and moisturisers work in the long run, I wanted the instant gratification of plump, glowing skin, if only for a few days.

I visited the Renaza Wellness Lifestyle Lab to see if they could help. After the therapist examined my skin closely and determined my areas of concern – uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin, blocked pores, fine lines – it was decided that the Oxylife Facial would be the most beneficial. To tackle my dark under eyes and reduce fine lines, I was also advised the Traditional Chinese Medicine-inspired Gua Sha Eye Massage.

My experience started with cleansing, followed by a mild scrub to exfoliate the dead skin, and toning. The therapist then started on my Gua Sha massage.

A version of the TCM therapy, the therapist uses a smooth, blunt instrument to gently massage the area around the eyes, which has already been prepped with a soothing eye cream. It is probably the most relaxing feeling in the world. The Gua Sha massage helps to increase blood flow to the eye area, this in turn helps reduce puffiness and eye bags. The serum massaged into the skin around the eyes helps to tackle fine lines and banish dark circles.

Once my eyes were relaxed and soothed, she moved on to my Oxylife Facial. Just the thought of it was so refreshing and invigorating. As I lay there all tucked into the comfortable blanket, my therapist smoothed a serum all over my face. As you may know, serums are concentrated doses of active ingredients that are formulated with smaller molecules so they are able to seep deep into the skin. Next, using a pump similar to that used for airbrushing, pure oxygen is infused into the skin at very high pressure. It feels cool, but there is no pain or discomfort. The therapist will painstakingly go over each and every part of the face with this device.

To seal in the benefits, the final step of my treatment was a tea tree and lavender infused mask over which another oxygen mask that covered my entire face constantly pumped in pure oxygen over a period of 15 minutes.

I emerged from my experience with hydrated, plump, brighter skin. The unpolluted oxygen has a calming effect on the skin. The direct infusion helps to plump and rejuvenate the upper layer of the skin. Over all, my looked firmer and smoother. With such fantastic results, I’m already looking forward to my next Oxylife Facial.
