Proving that the luxury brand really does know how to throw a one-of-a-kind party, Mulberry hosted a quaint picnic – in style! Given their collaboration with free-spirited supermodel Cara Delevingne, celebrating the UK launch of their new collection at the heart of the Wilderness festival seemed quite fitting.
Cara arrived in a comfy, festival outfit for the occasion: ivory blouse, slouchy wicker print trousers and ivory high top sneakers all from Mulberry, while carrying her Cara Delevingne Bag in Oxblood Natural Leather and her own mirrored specs.
True to the spirit of Mulberry and the British locale, the affair was decidedly English. Guests were ushered inside the secret Walled Garden of Lord and Lady Rotherwick’s beautiful Cornbury estate then greeted by an array of delectable treats prepared by chef Giles Clark. Wicker hampers were filled with roasted cobnuts, heritage wholegrain sandwiches with dressed crab, cream and gooseberry jelly biscuits and pressed cucumber juice flavoured with honey. While enjoying their picnic treats, guests sipped free-flowing Laurent Perrier champagne and listened to an acoustic set by Will Heard followed by music from DJ Benson.
The “Mulberry Loves Craft” tent was a definite hit among festival goers, where Mulberry craftsmen customised leather bracelets in the brand’s signature colours: Pheasant Green, Flame, Petrol Blue, Chocolate and Oak. The tent’s cosy interiors were also a nod to the brand’s founder, Roger Saul, who started making the first Mulberry pieces in his family’s kitchen.
Another popular spot was the Cara-Van – Cara’s vintage Landrover that was given a stylish makeover in true crafts and Wilderness theme. Cara’s friends Gemma Chan, Bonnie Wright, Jaime Winstone, Gala Gordon, Tanya Burr and her sister Chloe Delevingne were spotted hamming it up by the Landrover, where they also got goodie bags filled with festival essentials. Mulberry certainly outdid itself this time – we can’t think of a better ending to a fun-filled day!
