Creatively Thai, Singapore’s largest annual Thai fashion showcase ended on a high note last Sunday. In its eight consecutive year, the four-day event was a great opportunity for fashion enthusiasts to get their hands on unique designs from Thai designers.
With a total of 44 participating designers, visitors were treated to a variety of chic, contemporary, high street styles, as well as luxurious handcrafted creations. Some of the favourites were languid drapes in hand-painted fabrics from Anuroj Handpaint, the gorgeous summer prints from Babas, casual chic styles from Iames, and individualistic pieces from AdHoc. Brands like C@Nina and Focoltone by Itthikorn had shoppers in awe with their beautiful creations in lavish fabrics. Not to be outdone, jewellery designers like Dhanu, Aztique and Rock Me jewellery had women flocking to their baubles handcrafted with precious and semi-precious stones.
The highlight of the event was a daily showcase of the designers’ mastery of eco-conscious fashion, in response to the theme “Go Green In Style”. It was an impressive display of eco-friendly initiatives – from sourcing local materials to using natural dyes and organic prints – to create a variety of breathtaking ensembles. Even Miss Earth Thailand 2013 Punika Kulsoontornrut proudly walked the runway in her bid to promote eco-friendly fashion.
