Has the warmer weather lately gotten your mood a little sweeter? If so, feel free to match your mood to this season’s candy-coloured shades! With all sorts of colours appearing down the runway, there’s a shade for everyone.
Sugary Sweet Peepers
The eyes received a lot of focus on the runways this season, with lids being decked out in various shades reminiscent of confectionaries and desserts. PPQ featured a sweet, pastel purple on its models, while Badgley Mischka opted for a wash of sky blue. At Costello Tagliapietra, the shades of choice were either a pastel citron green or violet. Not a pastels person? Then take a leaf from Marc by Marc Jacobs, which had models wearing eye shadow in a bright mid-tone blue shade.

Candy Coated Lips
The lips were the other key focus area on the runways this season. Lips come in a variety of shades, from bubblegum pinks to bold, bright candy-like shades that bordered on neon. At Prabal Gurung, models were outfitted with either a pale pastel pink, a cherry red, or a juicy orange shade, while J. JS Lee sent models wearing bright pink lips down the runway. At Rag & Bone and Creatures of the Wind, lips were seen in both matte and satin finishes, but the colour at both was a bright, nearly-neon orange.

With all the focus on the eyes and lips this season, it’s understandable that cheeks remain more muted. A good nude cheek helps add definition to the whole look, while making sure the overall look is candy-land and not circus clown! But don’t limit yourself to just cheek colours – you can also use a suitably-coloured bronzer or sculpting powder to define your cheeks without adding too much colour.
