A woman’s review of Gucci Made To Measure

The man may be purchasing his own fragrance, but you can’t deny that he’s wearing it for that special someone to fall in love with it. I got my beau to wear the new Gucci Made to Measure, the newest fragrance by the brand, and I review how I think it works on him.

The masculine partner to Gucci Premiere (launched 2012), this fragrance also gives a celebrity touch to the wearer. I like how it smells like a gentleman who’s well-groomed, smart and only wants the finest things in life.

It’s not surprising that the notes are exquisite. Tailor-made, just like an expensive suit, the Calabrian bergamot, Tunisian orange blossom, French lavender and aniseed are chosen as the accords in the top note. The heart gives the fragrance its spicy and textured edge, with the notes of nutmeg from Sri Lanka, water lily, juniper berries, plum and cinnamon. Finally, the base is luxurious and sophisticated, thanks to the mix of labdanum, patchouli, leather and amber.

I must say that I was arrested by the top notes, which has a warm and alluring texture to it, giving the impression of a composed individual who is charming and interesting. The bottom notes, on the other hand, feel like luxury leather, are quietly elegant and timeless.

While I usually wouldn’t usually use the word “debonair” to describe my beau, I think the fragrance helps bring out and remind me of that smart and sophisticated facet of him – looks like this fragrance makes the man.
