Perhaps the rebel in most (if not all) of us is what’s keeping the punk trend alive. The 70s may have been an outrageous decade for fashion but this season, we can expect a grown-up take on grungy glamour and rock ‘n’ roll. This fall is all about high shine, pleather, plastic, studs, heritage fabrics and iridescence. Here are ways to pull off the punk trend that is 50 per cent fashion and 50 per cent attitude.
The quickest way to get the shine on is by wearing leather. Shiny leather is very punk and wearing it in dress form softens the look into a more feminine ensemble. Wear it with boots or strappy heels.
Leather jackets, we will always love to wear. To punk-out your outfit, wear jackets that are embellished with studs. Pair with a simple dress or even a tee-and-jeans combo. Rock on!
You can also accessorise with studs. Stack some spiked bracelets or carry a studded purse.
Another way to sport the high shine look is by wearing a metallic skirt. Pair the standout piece with a simple blouse or sweatshirt to complete your girly punk look.
Plaid is a punk staple too. Wear this classic print by way of a pair of slouchy pants. Polish the punk ensemble with a sweatshirt and badass black boots.
How would you rock the punk trend?
