Where the wild things are

Fashion showed it’s wild side with animal prints stalking catwalks this Autumn/Winter. Think big cats, giraffe, Dalmatian and even cow print. Yes, it’s set to be the new neutral. This season’s prints are slightly different from your run-of-the-mill leopard. Designers showcased luxe, head-to-toe, colourful versions which were anything but trashy. And the best part is, it never really goes out of style.

Burberry had restrained, lady like versions, but took things a step ahead and mixed contrasting prints for maximum effect. At Diane von Furstenberg, prints were layered and looked fabulous. Other designers that showcased this trend were DKNY, Giambattista Valli, Lavin, Givenchy and Jason Wu to name a few.

So what are you waiting for, pick your print and go wild. The way to wear animal print this season is oversized and mismatched. Add a pop to any outfit with animal print accessories – a scarf, a clutch, shoes, everything goes. And for the daring, top-to-toe animal print is the way to go.
