Makeup to go with your tan

How to enhance your tanSummer with its glorious sunny days and clear blue skies begs for picnics in the park, barbeques by the beach, and lazy days spent by the pool. While we’re hoping you had some SPF on while outdoors, it’s almost certain you’ve deepened a shade or two. Now your foundation looks ashen, your go-to lipstick shade does not suit you, and your favourite blush makes you look like someone else. Don’t panic. And there’s no need to rush out and buy new makeup either. Our tips will help you enhance your tan with your current kit.

Get the foundation right: Mix your foundation with a moisturiser to make it sheer. Next follow up with a powder that’s a shade deeper. This will balance out the foundation to match with your slightly deepened skin tone.

Swap your blush for bronzer: Play up your tan with a swipe of bronzer in the hollows of your cheeks and around your hairline. This will add a glow and create contours.

Go easy on the eyes: Curl your lashes and use a swipe of mascara to keep it in place. If you must use eye shadow, stick with light, shimmery colours you may already have.

Keep the lips light: Mix your lipsticks to create summery shades like coral or salmon that will add a pop of colour. A swipe of gloss will help complete your look.
