Now this is a trend all Southeast Asian girls will love and we reckon should be a staple each spring/summer – Bermudas. This season, designers played with Bermuda shorts of varying lengths but never too short to qualify as Daisy Dukes.
Donna Karan lengthened and tailored the denim cutoffs at DKNY and paired them with a crisp white blazer and button down for a polished edge. Over at Rag and Bone, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville’s re-interpretation of a Bermuda suit was a smart cobalt-blue number that played with proportions – teaming up a tailored jacket and loose-fitted Bermudas.
Stripes had their day too, gracing the jaunty Bermudas at Nanette Lepore and Suno. On the other end of the spectrum, Vera Wang translated luxe into curve hugging Bermudas with brocade material.
Wear it with: If you are lucky enough to work in an office that gives Bermudas the nod for Casual Fridays, an ensemble of a snug blazer and straight Bermudas is professional enough for an end-of-the-week client meeting. As most variations of Bermudas have hemlines that end near the knees, make sure to put on a pair of heels for a lift and to lengthen the appearance of your gams.
