Even the most basic user has a moisturiser in her regime and that’s probably why brands are always looking to improve their existing formulas and presenting moisturisers that do more than just keep skin hydrated. The moisturisers that we featured in this article are all launched last year in Singapore.
La Prairie Advanced Marine Biology Revitalizing Emulsion, S$214
Part of a five-piece collection that’s targeted at those in their late 20s and above, this is a moisturiser that’s designed, not just for your face, but also your neck and eyes. The time-starved will certainly love this lightweight formula that provides hydration coupled with antioxidant protection to reduce and prevent signs of ageing. And yes, it can be used both day and night.
Origins Make A Difference Plus+, S$78
Dry and dehydrated skin is one of the reasons why fine lines and wrinkles appear. If you like a refreshing moisturiser that quenches your skin, then Origins’ new Make A Difference Plus+, which is an upgraded version of its existing moisturiser in the line, will be a great option. It is fortified with Jericho, a rose that is known for its unique ability to rehydrate itself, as well as lychee and watermelon hydra-sustain complex. As with all Origins products, it is free from parabens and sulfates, too!
SK-II Stempower, S$149 (50g), S$219 (80g)
One of the most exciting launches by SK-II in 2012 is Stempower, which was introduced to Singapore first, before any other parts of the world. This anti-ageing moisturiser is fortified with Acanax complex, which promises to rejuvenate the skin’s renewal process, so firmness can be retained. Besides combatting loss of firmness, it also fights nine other signs of ageing, including: fine lines and wrinkles, lack of radiance and roughness.
Philosophy Hope In A Jar, S$59
While this isn’t exactly a new product, Philosophy has only finally arrived in Singapore last year, so for many of us here, it may be the first time we have such accessibility to this great product. Besides hydrating and conditioning, this lightweight formula also provides mild exfoliation to the skin so it can appear more radiant. It also defend the skin against free radicals with antioxidants. Try out the oil-free gel version, which is a refreshing formula perfect for our humid climate.
Radical Skincare Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture, S$215
A powerhouse of anti-ageing ingredients, this moisturiser is formulated by sisters Liz and Rachel Edlich, who brought the brand to Singapore in 2012 through Escentials. The formula is hydrating, while it’s packed with antioxidants. Besides anti-ageing benefits, it also help reduce the process of production of pigment formation to help visibly reduce the appearance of spots caused by ageing.
