The name Proenza Schouler first popped up on the fashion radar in 2002. The New York-based label was founded by Parsons alums Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. So, why “Proenza Schouler”, you ask? Well, the name is an amalgamation of the duo’s mothers’ maiden names. Seeing that Mother’s Day is just around the corner, we see it fit to highlight the PS1 in this week’s Bag Of The Week.
Although the label burst into the fashion scene in 2002, it wasn’t until 2008 that Proenza Schouler inevitably launch their first bag collection, including the now-iconic PS1, which lives up to the brand’s famous attention to detail, stringent craftsmanship (the bags are made in Italy) and sense of refined ease in its style. Over the years, we have witnessed a smorgasbord of designs, colours and materials which make PS1 one of the most versatile and covetable bags du jour.
In our spotlight this week is this midnight-blue leather number with a chic gold-toned snap closure, leather straps, and a removable/adjustable shoulder strap.
Available at La Prendo at S$2,520 (US$2,022).
