We Have Our Eye On Paper Lashes

Move over, false lashes, beauty junkies are now turning to paper lashes to add a little va-va-voom to their eyes.

Inspired by the art of Chinese paper-cutting, these PaperSelf lashes are oh-so-intricate. Designs include butterflies, horses, peach blossoms and peacocks. They may be a tad too dramatic for the day, but are perfect for that special night out or the glamorous party that you’re attending. A definite conversation starter.

Our verdict: How could we resist? We bought ourselves a pair and tried them out. As delicate as they look, they are extremely easy to apply. With just a bit of adhesive glue, the paper lashes last all night. Made from a durable material, they hold up well even when they come in contact with water. To jazz them some more, bend the butterflies or flowers gently before you wear them so they’d look like they’re sitting beautifully on your real eyelashes. Besides full lashes, demi-lashes are also available, and it’s up to you to get creative with them — place them at the outer corner or centre of the eyes, or even along your bottom lash line to wow!

The PaperSelf paper lashes are available in full and demi versions at Sephora at S$30 (US$23) per pair.
