Royal Baths

In her famous novel The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath said: “There must be quite a few things a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them.” We can’t agree more. Especially when the hot bath is had at a swanky hotel suite accompanied by luxurious body-pampering shower products. We check in on what some of Singapore’s top hotels are offering in their chi chi bathrooms.

Mandarin Oriental Singapore
Guests staying in the club rooms and suites at Mandarin Oriental enjoy the Elemis range of toiletries. Elemis is a British luxury spa and skincare brand. The hotel spokesperson tells us that the brand was picked because of its passionate commitment towards using organic extracts and pure essential oils in its products. The company is also against animal testing and synthetic perfumes and colourings. Talk about guilt-free pleasures.

Grand Hyatt Singapore
Right now, guests are pampered with Aesop’s shower products in the club rooms and suites. Come back in about two months’ time, and you’re in for an all-new treat. This December, Grand Hyatt will be stocking amenities from June Jacobs, a couture spa brand the hotel has been using at its Damai Spa. June Jacobs is best known for its potent anti-oxidant blends using selected botanical and plant extracts which are great for protecting the skin from environmental toxins and fighting signs of ageing.

Pan Pacific Singapore
Here, three luxurious toiletry brands are offered at various rooms. Bathroom amenities from YU’I (a brand made especially for Pan Pacific and is known for its pampering bath salts) can be found in the deluxe rooms; Floris, a luxury London brand known for its fragrances are stocked in the Deluxe rooms with balcony; and finally, L’Occitane products are offered in the exclusive Pacific Club floor. The L’Occitane goodies are famous for their natural ingredients, sourced from Provence ion France, and of course, their appealing scents.

Fullerton Bay Hotel
The recently-opened Fullerton Bay Hotel features the Molton Brown Hotel Therapy collection. The hotel is the first in Asia Pacific and the only one in Singapore to feature this range of products, which is specially formulated to ease travel tension, combat jetlag and promote sleep. We would so check in just to take a long, leisurely bath!

Swissôtel Singapore
True to its Swiss Roots, Swissôtel offers Pürovel Spa & Sport products, which are based on an Alpine-inspired solution for vital treatments and exercise. The natural ingredients found in Pürovel products are sourced only from Switzerland. The experience of using the products is said to be reminiscent of the invigorating mountain air of the Swiss Alps.

Fairmont Singapore
Fairmont has an exclusive global partnership with luxury London perfumer Miller Harris. With a strong background in perfumery, the bath and body products by the brand also have distinctive scents that you’ll never forget. Guests at Fairmont Singapore can wake up to Citron Citron, one of Miller Harris’ popular lines that features a citrus fragrance that’s at once refreshing and exotic. You know what they say: When life gives you lemons, take a luxurious bath in its essence.
